Based in Dundee, I graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art with an upper class secondary degree in Fine Art. I am currently studying the Masters of Fine Art course at the same institution and continue to work in photographic format.

Past exhibited work and practical content

The aim of my work was to present a collaboration of metal etchings and photographic pieces which were representational of solidarity and emotional thought. My degree show exhibition consisted of a series of non-premediated images, which evolved as a collection of images that were representative of thought and reflection of the mind.

Whilst preparing a photographc etching plate, I concentrate on the development of the metal plate itself instead of the print that will be produced. When exhibiting I display the metal plates that I work from instead of the prints themselves as I feel that they provide a more prominent visual piece.

Current Practice

My current practice is explorative of identity, self, gender, heritage and the communication of such issues through the use of monochromatic stills. The absence of colour within my work is representational of nostalgic elements and influences such as family albums and collected aesthetic objects which link intercultural visual dialogue with cultural identity, self/female identity and individual voice.
